Sea Trials - 13 May 2008. (There will be some changes to this event this year, which I will post as they are determined by the administration.)  Starting at "O Dark Thirty", this is a day of physical and mental challenges for your Class of 2011 midshipman that will make a lasting impression throughout their Naval career.

Herndon Climb - 15 May 2008  Don't miss this time honored tradition and rite of passage at the Naval Academy, on what may turn out to be the most exciting day of their lives for the Class of 2011.  Parents should arrive early and bring a chair since the event normally lasts an hour and a half.  There are stands available for those who arrive early enough to grab a seat.  After the ceremony your midshipmen will be rather filthy and smell of lard.  Don't shoot all of your film or tape right at the start because this event tests teamwork and determination and takes awhile.

Class of 2009 - Ring Dance

The Class of 2009 officially get their USNA rings. Class rings are dipped into water from the Seven Seas and the ritual is celebrated with a formal dinner dance.  See the 2009 Class Ring brochure.

A week of festivities celebrates the Graduation and commissioning ceremonies for the Class of 2008 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Come see America's finest men and women as over 1000 midshipmen graduate and then receive their commissions in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.

Class of 2012 - I-DAY
July 2, 2008 (note date change)

The Class of 2012 reports to the Academy for Induction Day 2008. The USNA journey begins for both parents and midshipmen when a new class reports to the Academy. Parents: wear comfortable walking shoes, bring sunscreen, water, kleenex and the camera as you share the start of Plebe Summer and say good-bye to your Mid until August.  Visit  the Plebe page for more specific suggestions for I-Day.

Annual Football Tailgate

Meet other parents in the Parents Club of Northern Virginia at our Annual Football Tailgate!  Meet at Memorial Stadium Navy Fest area for tailgating and get fired up for the game.  Flyers will be emailed.
