Ring Dance
The Class of 2013 officially get their
USNA rings. Class rings are dipped into water from the Seven Seas and
the ritual is celebrated with a formal dinner dance. Remind your Mid to
take lots of pictures!
21 May 2012, Herndon Climb /Sea Trials
This time honored tradition and rite of
passage at the Naval Academy has returned! Herndon normally lasts over
an hour and a half, and we shall see how this year's tradition unfolds.
After the ceremony your 'Plebe No More' may be rather filthy and smell
of lard. Sea Trails Award will be presented. Sea Trials: starting at "O
Dark Thirty", this is a day of physical and mental challenges for the
plebes. Sea Trials are closed to parents and the public.

A week of USNA festivities and fun accompanies the Graduation and
Commissioning ceremonies for the Class of 2011 at Navy-Marine Corps
Memorial Stadium. Come see America's finest men and women as over 1000
midshipmen graduate and then receive their commissions in the U.S. Navy
and U.S. Marine Corps. The graduation and commissioning may be watched
live on the Pentagon Channel or the web link at www.usna.edu. Make your
rental arrangements early and prepare to celebrate your Midshipman's
accomplishments!

Welcome Picnic and Information Session

DO NOT MISS the club's annual Welcome
Aboard picnic as we introduce the prospective members of the Class of
2016 and their families. Current Midshipmen will be available to answer
incoming plebe questions and concerns. A separate session will be held
for parents. This is a great time to exchange contact information with
other plebe parents and get some practical advice from veteran parents
in a relaxed environment.

I-Day information
Plan to visit the Northern Virginia
Club table under the tent by Alumni Hall. The Class of 2016 reports to
the Academy for Induction Day. The USNA journey begins for both parents
and midshipmen when a new class reports to the Academy. Parents: park
at the stadium, wear comfortable walking shoes, bring sunscreen, water,
kleenex and the camera as you share the start of Plebe Summer and say
good-bye to your Mid until August. Visit the Plebe page for more
specific suggestions for I-Day.

The great tradition and precision of this legendary unit are on display
at the evening parade held at the famous Iwo Jima Memorial overlooking
the Potomac.
TBD August 2012, Plebe Parent Weekend Information
Reunions are a beautiful thing! Be
thankful you live within driving distance, pack your plebe's favorite
goodies and make your way to Annapolis for a whirlwind weekend as you
reunite with your plebe. This is one of the rare occasions parents are
allowed to visit inside Bancroft Hall. Once your plebe is rested up and
well-fed, you will be marveling at his or her new confidence and
maturity. Let your Plebe take the lead on activities and listen up as
they tell of their trials and triumphs during Plebe Summer. Bring a
camera--they look great in their summer whites. TIP: make dinner and
hotel reservations now if you plan to stay in Annapolis during this
weekend.
